Thomas Belesis: The Former Man of the Year

Before a person can be given such high recognition, he must have done something good in his industry, his country, and the people around him. It is not about being able to earn billions of dollars every year that a person gets recognized with such distinction. Thomas Belesis, one of the top names in Wall Street, was named as Bronx GOP’s Man of the Year in 2009. Bronx GOP or Grand Old Party is the other term for the Republican Party located in Bronx, New York. Belesis was awarded with the Man of the Year because he embodied the spirit of the American dream according to the award presenter, former New York City Mayor Rudolph Guiliani. Guiliani also mentioned about Belesis’ humble beginnings before becoming a very successful individual in Wall Street. Thomas Belesis started as an ordinary employee in New York City’s financial district before becoming who he is today.
Starting in Wall Street, Belesis showed hard work and dedication to improve in his craft. He was the first to arrive in his workplace and was the last one to leave. He did not stop from learning in the companies he worked for evidenced by his continuous rise in Wall Street. When he realized that it was time to step outside the box and build his own legacy, Belesis did not have any difficulties. He created his own financial firm in 2007 with only less than five employees. Today, the number of employees is around 300. His company went from being unknown to being a force to reckon with nowadays. Belesis’ company, John Thomas Financial is an independent broker dealer and investment banking firm that offers services such as brokerage and investment services, market analysis & research, and investment banking services.
It was also mentioned during Belesis’ awarding that his time in Wall Street helped New Yorkers to realize their dream because he provided opportunities to join the financial services industry. Thomas Belesis’ distinction as Man of the Year is just one of several awards that he received in the past years. With the way Belesis is working, it won’t be long before he receives another award.
